Search Videos
  • Big Think
The site offers interviews with academics, authors, politicians, and other thinkers. Most of them are filmed in front of a white background, and the interviews are chopped into bite-sized pieces of just a few minutes each.
  • Google Video
Search and watch millions of videos indexed from all over the web. Upload and share videos with the world.
  • Instructables
This collection of DIY videos definitely has a geeky flair. MIT graduates founded this site to share ideas about how to pursue their hobbies on the cheap. In the spirit of the open source movement, they share their instructional videos with all of us. Browse categories and then choose the video tab, or do a keyword search for lessons on "How to Prepare Absinthe" or how to build a biking jacket with LED turn signals built into it.
  • iTunes U
In cooperation with 63 universities, along with public television and other academic institutions, iTunes offers a space in its store featuring free, college-level lectures and courses, many offered as videos.
  • Teacher Tube
Website designed for sharing instructional videos. Hope to fill a need for a more educationally focused, safe venue for teachers, schools, and home learners. It is a site to provide anytime, anywhere professional development with teachers teaching teachers. As well, it is a site where teachers can post videos designed for students to view in order to learn a concept or skill.
  • Wonder How To
This search engine of online instructional videos tries to capture "every how-to video that exists." Use the keyword search or browse the 36 main subject categories and the 403 subcategories, which range from alcohol to weapons. A top toolbar links to films deemed "hot," "fresh," and "top grade."
  • YouTube
Large library of videos submitted by amateurs, so the quality varies.
Sample Videos
